The San Mateo County Parks Department will present the Draft Quarry Park Master Plan to the Midcoast Community Council in fall of 2020. Following this presentation, a community workshop will be held to review the Draft Quarry Park Master Plan. It is anticipated that this meeting will be held by video conference. The community will also be able to provide comments on the Draft Master Plan document during a 60-day comment period.
The final Draft Document will be presented to the San Mateo County Parks Commission and the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors for consideration in early 2021.
In the meantime, the department has already begun to address a number of the high priority recommendations based on community input. In collaboration with CAL FIRE, the department has undertaken extensive removal of invasive vegetation for fire risk redirection and habitat preservation as well as improve multipurpose access roads.
In addition, the department will begin developing plans for a pump track to be located within the meadow area adjacent the corporation yard. Community members who want to participate in the design of the pump track, can sign-up on the Quarry Park Pump Track Email List below. A pump track allows a bike rider to use his or her upper and lower body to gain momentum while going over curves and dips.
